Radius guide
Best corner radius for screenshots that still look natural.
The best screenshot radius is usually smaller than people expect. Too little and the image still feels raw. Too much and the screenshot starts looking like a toy card instead of a real product surface.
Why too much radius looks wrong
A screenshot already contains corners inside the image: cards, dialogs, buttons, panels, and device frames. If the outer image radius becomes too large, the whole capture can look soft and inflated. That is why screenshots often need less radius than avatars or decorative product cards.
Recommended ranges by screenshot type
App UI screenshots
Start at 24px to 40px. Enough to soften the edges without fighting the UI inside the image.
Landing-page product shots
Use 32px to 56px if the screenshot is large and sits inside a designed marketing section.
Support docs
Keep it light at 16px to 28px so the instructional content still feels precise.
Social preview cards
28px to 48px works well because social graphics often need a little extra softness and separation.
Changelog images
Use a moderate radius and prioritize consistency across all release screenshots.
Deck and pitch images
Match the slide system. If the deck uses 16px corners elsewhere, do not suddenly export screenshots with 48px.
A practical way to choose the value
- Start lower than you think.
- Check whether the screenshot already has many rounded UI elements inside it.
- Add a light border before increasing radius too far.
- Zoom out and judge the screenshot at the size people will actually see it.
What usually matters more than extra radius
- A subtle border when the screenshot edge disappears on a bright page
- Padding when the screenshot needs to feel like a card
- A cleaner export format choice
- Consistent treatment across a group of screenshots
